About Bringing Firearms into Canada
There are federal (Canadian) firearms regulations concerning ownership, ammunition, transporting, first-served, and bringing firearms into Canada.
You will have to submit a Non-Resident Firearm Declaration form RCPM 5589 / CAFC 909 upon first entry into Canada. You should have the form filled out in triplicate before your arrival, but DO NOT SIGN it until you are met by a Canada Border Services Officer, who will ask you to sign it at that time.
Please visit the Visitors/Non-Residents section of the Canadian Firearms Program website or phone them at 1-800-731-4000 for information concerning your firearms and to print off the declaration form.
DO NOT attempt to bring any handguns into Canada.
